Forgot two...

Dialogue wise, I feel like I've got nothing. Unfortunately my memory is all sorts of horrid, and I drew these outside it's range. Not sure what all I was thinking/dealing with etc. what I do know is how much i hate the little "hello!" guy. Keep looking, you'll find him. Right when I drew those horrid circles, about a tenth of the way through, I knew I had created a demon that would haunt me every time I looked at it. I tried to cover it up, but what has been seen cannot be unseen. And It went against my self imposed limits to just toss the paper.

I guess that's something unique to talk about. I have this little rule that once I start, I have to finish that piece. Not all in one sitting, but no matter how horrid it's turning out I have to keep adding and hiding errors until the whole page is filled or it feels finished. The majority of these pieces have some sort of large flaw/error that I hid and worked into it. I guess that's the method. Draw one line, find the flaw, hide it with another line. Rinse and repeat until finished.

  2. nice. Im not seeing the "hello guy". In my life drawing class my instructor would tell us to make our gesture line, erase it..."now more specific" while we were learning basic gestures. he doesn't bark that enough. It is one of those things that keeps you from getting complacent with that interesting line you've just drawn. how can it be more specific? more expressive?

Basically nothing we draw will be perfect or so amazing that it can't be rethought and redone after the first time or so. I like that you sort of allude to this by saying that you make a mark and then try and hide it with other marks.

Man isn't that what it's all about? on the other hand, sometimes the marks we make serve to build upon or accentuate other marks, giving them life. I think that is what your pieces mean to me. because every mark is part of a whole, and even the damning ones have a place in something like this. I like it.

    Thanks for sharing
